  1. 9:30am-10:00am. Funding opportunities for engineering graduate students with Dr. Sumi Siddiqua, Associate Director, Graduate Studies at the School of Engineering. 
  2. 10:00am-10:30am. How to convince editors and reviewers to accept your papers with Dr. Julian Cheng, Professor, School of Engineering.
  3. 10:30-10:45, Coffee break with refreshments provided by the School of Engineering
  4. 10:45-am-11:15am. Patents and the University Industry Liaison Office (UILO) with James McCartney, Industry Liaison Officer, UILO
  5. 11:15am-11:45am. Market research resources for engineering wiith M.J. D'Elia, Associate Chief Librarian, UBC Library, Okanagan Campus. 
  6. 11:45am-12:15pm. Artificial intelligence, ethics, and engineering research with Iman Jalilvand, PhD candidate at the School of Engineering. 

Logistics:

  • All sessions take place in EME 0050
  • Each speaker will present information for 20 minutes, leaving 10 minutes for audience questions.

This workshop series has been collaboratively developed by the Engineering Graduate Student Society members Ronald, Joud and Niloofar, Barbara Sobol, Engineering Librarian on the Okanagan Campus and Dr. Ayman Elnaggar, Associate Professor of Teaching at the School of Engineering.
