- 9:30am-10:00am. Developing a personal writing practice with Jessica Lowry, Centre for Scholarly Communication Associate, Centre for Scholarly Communication
- 10:00am-10:30am. Research ethics with human subjects, presented by Lisa Shearer, Associate Manager, Behavioural Research Ethics Board, Office of Research Services
- 10:30-10:45, Coffee break with refreshments provided by the School of Engineering
- 10:45-am-11:15am. Complex topics in publishing with Barbara Sobol, Engineering Librarian, Okanagan Campus
- 11:15am-11:45am. Writing for grants with Amanda Brobbel, Senior Manager, Centre for Scholarly Communication
- 11:45am-12:15pm. Lessons learned in graduate studies with Ronald Kizza and Niloofar Akbarian-Saravi, both of whom are PhD Candidates at the School of Engineering
Logistics:
- All sessions take place in EME 0050
- Each speaker will present information for 20 minutes, leaving 10 minutes for audience questions.
This workshop series has been collaboratively developed by the Engineering Graduate Student Society members Ronald, Joud and Niloofar, as well as Barbara Sobol, Engineering Librarian on the Okanagan Campus and Dr. Ayman Elnaggar, Associate Professor of Teaching at the School of Engineering.
