Introduction to APIs

Introduction to APIs

Have you ever wanted to get data out of a website and work with it on your own terms? Are you interested in expanding your digital toolkit? This workshop will expose participants to RESTful APIs, how they work, and how to make use of them without a lot of programming.  To illustrate concepts around the use of APIs we encourage you to install Open Refine and follow along.  If you have any questions about this event, please contact digital.scholarship@ubc.ca.

Pre-workshop setup: we will use the open-source tool OpenRefine for some of the activities. To make the most of the workshop please install OpenRefine ahead of time from https://openrefine.org/download.html.
