Introduction to Python
Do you want to learn about Python but don't know where to start? This workshop is for you! Coding is an important skill for both academics and practitioners and Python is among the top 3 most popular programming languages -- being widely used for data sciences and machine learning.
This introductory level Python workshop discusses the basic data structures of the Python programming language and then, we jump into the usage of Python for data science purposes. We present basic data preparation and management, descriptive statistics, plotting, and common statistical analysis (T-test and correlation). This workshop is designed for beginners who have no or little experience in Python and with opportunities for hands-on experience with sample data. Join us for this workshop and start your data analysis with Python!
Please bring your own laptop to this workshop. You do not need to install Python at your laptop, as we will use an online coding platform, syzygy. Make sure to have an account here.
Note: We have a limited number of laptops that you are most welcome to borrow. If you would like to borrow a laptop, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
