Open Pedagogy with Omeka: Creating Digital Exhibits
Digital exhibit projects provide students with the opportunity to gain experience in open educational practices including working with open primary source materials in GLAMs (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums). Using Omeka.net, students and researchers can work collaboratively to curate a collection of digital objects into an online exhibit. The free, trial version of Omeka requires minimal to no technical or programming experience and is fairly accessible for beginners. This session will include:
- an overview of the Omeka.net trial version;
- examples of assignments using Omeka;
- best practices for accessibility.
