Candidacy to Completion Writing Community

Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and the Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication are hosting a virtual Candidacy to Completion Writing Community to help mitigate social isolation by focusing on strategies for connecting to complete.

We invite UBC Vancouver doctoral students who have reached candidacy to gather for 2 hours each week to write alone—together. A doctoral candidate from the Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication facilitates brief opening and closing discussions and employs the Pomodoro technique throughout the 2 hours.

NOTE: This event is limited to UBC Vancouver doctoral candidates and requires a minimum registration of 20 participants to run.

Facilitator: Niall Mann is a PhD candidate in French literature. He holds degrees in philosophy, music and Spanish and has worked as a translator and editor. He has a passion for purposeful prose and lifelong learning.

Date & Time: Thursdays, June 4 - August 20, 2020, 2-4pm, PDT.

Registrants who have not officially reached doctoral candidacy will have their registration cancelled. If you are not a doctoral candidate, please join 1 of the 2 writing communities the Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication hosts for all UBCV community members.
