Geocoding & Web Mapping with Python

An introduction to webmapping with Python. Participants will use geocoding to assign coordinates to records of police killings across Canada. They will learn how to make an interactive webmap that displays police killings and how to export it at as a .html file that can be added to a webpage.

Prerequisites:

Please create a free Mapbox account: https://www.mapbox.com/ prior to the workshop. 

This worksho uses the syzygy.ca environment, available to students, faculty, and staff at UBC, SFU, and many other Canadian universities. Participants who do not have access to syzygy.ca might not be able to participate in hands-on activities.
