Geospatial Analysis & Visualization with Python

An introduction to geospatial analysis and visualization using various python packages. Participants will learn how to use geopandas to import, manipulate, and plot geospatial data including records of police killings across Canada and Canadian census data.

Prerequisites:

Please create a free Mapbox account: https://www.mapbox.com/ prior to the workshop.

This worksho uses the syzygy.ca environment, available to students, faculty, and staff at UBC, SFU, and many other Canadian universities. Participants who do not have access to syzygy.ca might not be able to participate in hands-on activities.
