OER Fund Online General Information Session and Faculty Panel
The UBC Open Educational Resources (OER) Fund was established to support affordable and inclusive access to learning materials through the adaption, adoption, development, and integration of OER in UBC credit courses. To support prospective applicants who are seeking OER funding support in 2020, CTLT will hold a General Information Session and Faculty Panel on the OER Fund on Wednesday, October 14, from 11:00 am-12:30 pm. In this session, you will receive information about the OER Fund criteria and application processes, including tips on writing your proposal, developing your budget, and designing evaluation strategies.
Additionally, a panel of current OER Fund grant holders will discuss their projects. Through the use of OER, as well as open pedagogies, UBC faculty are engaged in creating meaningful, inclusive, and accessible learning materials as well as educational experiences that emphasize students as collaborators in the production and sharing of knowledge. If you are preparing to develop a proposal for the OER Fund or are simply interested in expanding your knowledge of open education practices, this faculty panel will highlight the motivations and processes involved in unique open education projects at UBC.
Throughout the fall, CTLT and UBC Library will hold weekly OER Fund Proposal Online Consultation ‘drop-in’ sessions for individual applicants. Please register for these sessions on the CTLT Events webpage.
The Zoom video conferencing link will be provided prior to the event to all who are confirmed to participate. Please make sure you have your own quiet space and a computer with a webcam and earphones/buds.
