SUMMARY:Doctoral Tri-Council Proposal: Crafting a Compelling Research Story
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for graduate students applying for Doctoral 
 Tri-Council funding: CIHR\, NSERC\, and SSHRC. Drawing on evidence-based 
 research about successful grant proposals\, facilitators discuss particular 
 elements of this written academic genre: audience\, purpose\, knowledge 
 gap\, competence claim\, structure\, style\, and more.\n\n\n\nThe workshop 
 includes examples of successful UBC Tri-Council proposals\, opportunities 
 for one-on-one writing consultations with doctoral peers from the Centre 
 for Writing and Scholarly Communication\, and dedicated writing 
 time.\n\n\n\nFacilitator: Dr. Patty Kelly\, Centre for Writing and 
 Scholarly Communication\n\nDate & Time: Wednesday\, July 13\, 2022: 10:00am
