NVivo part 2: classification and datasets

NVivo's classification capabilities will help you add demographic data to your nodes, and bibliographic data to your sources. Datasets allow you to import and work with tabular material from spreadsheets, database tables, surveys, and social media. If you are comfortable with the basics of NVivo (importing sources, creating nodes, and coding) and would like to explore new ways of working with qualitative data, this workshop is for you!

Workshop Requirements

NVivo is available for free to all UBC students, staff, and faculty. To make the most of this workshop please install NVivo ahead of time.

This workshop uses NVivo R1. Please download NVivo R1 (Release 1, version 1.3 or later) ahead of time. The older NVivo 12 has similar functions but a different interface than the version used in this workshop.

Download NVivo here.
