POSE Open Chat: A global and diverse world of scholarly communication is well under way
Description
For over 25 years, the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), has been supporting open access scholarly publishing around the world. At last count, PKP's open source software was being used to publish over 30,000 journals, half of which publish in languages other than English, and most of which are in the global south. This presentation will share these and other characteristics of PKP's community while examining global trends in open access.
Presenter: Juan Pablo Alperin is an Associate Professor in the Publishing Program, the Associate Director of Research for the Public Knowledge Project, and the co-director of the Scholarly Communications Lab.
Please note that this session is being offered as part of POSE, the Program for Open Scholarship and Education, but is open to all.
