Introduction to the tidyverse R package
Information for Participants
This workshop presents some of the major packages in the tidyverse package in R. It is intended as an overview of tidyverse. While we do not expect extensive experience with R, we do assume knowledge of R and RStudio to the extent covered in Beginner R Part 1 and Beginner R Part 2. At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Know what tidyverse is
- Understand the uses of data manipulation packages
- Have an idea of where to start looking for answers when manipulating your data
The workshop will be one hour long, followed by an optional 30-minute practice period to reinforce what you learned or consult with the instructors. Workshop materials are available at https://ubc-library-rc.github.io/intro_to_tidyverse/
To participate fully you will need to install the latest versions of R and RStudio on your computer before the workshop:
- Install R from https://cran.rstudio.com/
- Install RStudio from https://rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/#download
