Beginner R Part 1
Information for Participants
If you have never opened R, do not know what R packages are, do not know how to read files into R, this workshop is for you! At the end of this workshop you will:
- Know what R and RStudio are
- Know what the parts of R Studio are called
- Know how to organize R code in an R script
If your expertise is a bit higher than what is described above, but you are still very new to R, check out the online Beginner R Part 2 workshop on January 29 10 am. And if you prefer to attend in person, consider Beginner R: in person on Feburary 5, 10-11:30 am.
This workshop will be one hour long, followed by an optional 30-minute practice period to reinforce what you learned or consult with the instructors. Workshop materials are available at https://ubc-library-rc.github.io/Beginner_R_Part1/

About this workshop series
Beginner R Part 1 is one in a series of R workshops offered by the UBC Library Research Commons. Each one-hour sesson introduces a particular task or application in R, followed by an optional 30-minute practice period with support from the instructors. The series' goal is to introduce participants to the data analysis and visualization potential of R and to encourage further self-paced exploration.
