Survival Models

Join us for the Fitting Models to Data Not Data to Models workshop series! This workshop series introduces early-career researchers to statistical models beyond linear models, focusing on fitting models to data rather than forcing data to fit model assumptions. Sessions use R and RStudio; prior experience is helpful but not required - beginners are encouraged to review R Fundamentals for Data Analysis or attend the intro workshop.

Survival Models: This workshop will introduce regression methods for time-to-event data, such as Cox proportional hazards. We will discuss assumptions and limitations, and how to model simple time-to-event data in R. By the end of the session, participants should be able to interpret survival curves, explain hazard ratios in regression terms, and determine if or when survival models are the right tool for analyzing such data.
