Introduction to GitHub Pages - Part 1

Building on the concepts of Introduction to GitHub, this session introduces GitHub Pages as a platform for creating a personal website, blog, or project page. Participants will learn how to:

  1. Generate a GitHub Pages website.
  2. Use Markdown to add and format content.
  3. Push (save) updates to their site.
  4. Explore use cases and best practices for GitHub Pages.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to launch their own GitHub Pages website and publish content to it.

Note. This is the second session in the three-part series on GitHub and GitHub Pages. There is no obligation to attend every session, but as some sessions build on previous ones, participants are expected to have basic knowledge of relevant concepts. Sessions with prerequisites will provide links to preparatory materials.
