SUMMARY:QGIS Intensive Series: Thematic Mapping with QGIS
DESCRIPTION:\nThis intermediate-level workshop will demonstrate how to 
 create thematic maps using QGIS\, a free and open-source Geographic 
 Information System (GIS) for analyzing\, modifying\, and visualizing 
 spatial data. Additionally\, participants will learn how to perform queries 
 on spatial data and edit the attribute table.\n\nNOTE: Prior to the 
 workshop date\, please review our Introduction to Mapmaking with QGIS 
 (https://ubc-library-rc.github.io/gis-mapping-intro/). Additionally\, if 
 you are new to QGIS\, we recommend you review our workshop on Reference 
 Mapping with QGIS (https://ubc-library-rc.github.io/gis-reference-mapping/) 
 as well.\n\nThis workshop is taught by a graduate student in Geography with 
 expertise in GIS and cartographic methods.\n\nWorkshop Link:

 before arriving:\n\nQGIS is a free and open source desktop geographic 
 information system (GIS). It can be installed on Windows\, MacOS\, and 
 Linux using the download instructions here: 
 https://www.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/download.html. This workshop will use 
 the latest Long Term Release version. Please make sure you have this 
 installed on your computer.\n\nLocation
