SUMMARY:Tools and Workflows in QGIS\, Part 2
DESCRIPTION:\nThis intermediate-level workshop is focused on common tools
and workflows in QGIS. Part 1 will focus on setting up a QGIS project\,
editing layer attributes and properties\, and employing common vector tools
to answer spatial questions. Part 2 will introduce more advanced
visualization tools\, including the Temporal Controller function\, radial
flow maps\, and the QGIS2Web plugin that converts your project into a web
map.\n\nFamiliarity with the QGIS interface is prerequisite for this
workshop. However\, attendance of Tools and Workflows Part 1 is not
required in order to attend Part 2. \n\nThis workshop is taught by a
graduate student in Geography with expertise in GIS and cartographic
methods.\n\nNOTE: Prior to the workshop date\, please review our
 Introduction to Mapmaking with QGIS
 (https://ubc-library-rc.github.io/gis-mapping-intro/). Additionally\, if
you are new to QGIS\, we recommend you review our workshop on Thematic
 Mapping with QGIS (https://ubc-library-rc.github.io/gis-thematic-mapping/)
as well.\n\n\nThings to do before arriving:\n\nQGIS is a free and open
source desktop geographic information system (GIS). It can be installed on
Windows\, MacOS\, and Linux using the download instructions here:
 https://www.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/download.html.\n\nBefore attending\,
please download the most recent QGIS Long Term Release and review the
 Research Commons' Introduction to QGIS.\n\nLocation
 details:\n\n\n	Location:\n	*ONLINE*\n\n\nIf you have questions\, concerns\,
or accessibility needs\, please email alexandra.alisauskas@ubc.ca\n\nTo
keep up-to-date with all our workshops\, consults\, and events\, subscribe
to the UBC Library Research Commons monthly newsletter.\n\nThis event is
online. Registrants receive the link 3 hours before the event. Registration
 closes at that time.
