SUMMARY:Data Organization in Spreadsheets for the Social Sciences
DESCRIPTION:Does data cleaning and formatting keep you up at night? Have
you ever wondered about the basic principles of good data organization for
spreadsheets? Set yourself up for success by attending this
workshop.\n\nGood data organization is the foundation of any research
project. Most researchers have data in spreadsheets\, so it’s the place
that many research projects start.\n\nTypically we organize data in
spreadsheets in ways that we as humans want to work with the data. However
computers require data to be organized in particular ways. In order to use
tools that make computation more efficient\, such as programming languages
like R or Python\, we need to structure our data the way that computers
need the data. Since this is where most research projects start\, this is
where we want to start too!\n\nThis workshop is beginner friendly! No prior
knowledge required to attend. \n\nPre-workshop setup\n\nPlease complete the
pre-workshop setup to install the software before the workshop.
 \n\nLocation Details\n\n\n	Location:\n	*ONLINE*\n\n\nIf you have any
questions\, concerns\, or accessibility needs please email jess.yao@ubc.ca
