SUMMARY:Introduction to the tidyverse R package
DESCRIPTION:The tidyverse is a collection of R packages designed for data
science. All packages share an underlying design philosophy\, grammar\, and
data structures. This workshop presents some of the major tidyverse
packages. At the end of the workshop\, you will:\n\n\n	Know what the
tidyverse is\n	Understand the uses of data manipulation packages\n	Know
where to look for answers when manipulating your data in R\n\n\nThe
workshop is followed by an optional practice period to reinforce what you
learned or consult with the instructors. Workshop materials are available
 at https://ubc-library-rc.github.io/intro_to_tidyverse/\n\nTo participate
fully you will need to install the latest versions of R and RStudio on your
computer before the workshop:\n\n\n	Install R from
 https://cran.rstudio.com/\n	Install RStudio from
 https://rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/#download\n\n\n \n\nAbout
this workshop series\n\nIntroduction to the tidyverse R package is one of
several R workshops offered by the UBC Library Research Commons. Each
session introduces a particular task or application in R\, followed by an
optional practice period with support from the instructors. The goal of the
series is to introduce participants to the data analysis and visualization
potential of R and to encourage further self-paced exploration. \n\nOther
workshops in the series offered this term are:\n\n\n	Beginner R Part 1\,
 January 22\, 1-2 pm\n	Beginner R Part 2\, January 29\, 1-2 pm\n	Data
manipulation with dplyr\, February 26\, 1-2 pm\n	Data visualization with
 ggplot2\, March 10\, 1-2 pm\n	Introduction to Shiny app in R\, March 26\,
1-2 pm\n\n\nIf you have any questions\, concerns or accessibility needs
please email research.commons@ubc.ca To keep up-to-date with all of the
workshops\, consults\, and events\, subscribe to the UBC Library Research
Commons monthly newsletter.\n\nThis event is online. Registrants receive
the link 24 hours before the event. Registration closes at the same time.
