SUMMARY:CGRS D: Crafting a Compelling Research Story
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for graduate students applying for 
 the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS D) from the 
 national funding agencies: CIHR\, NSERC\, and SSHRC. Drawing on 
 evidence-based research about successful grant proposals\, the facilitator 
 discusses particular elements of this written academic genre: audience\, 
 purpose\, knowledge gap\, competence claim\, structure\, style\, and more. 
 The workshop includes examples of successful UBC CGRS D research 
 proposals\, and embedded time to write.\n\n\n\nFacilitator: Dr. Xuan 
 Zhang\, Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication\n\nLocation: IKBLC\, 
 Level 3\, Dodson Room and on Zoom. Registrants receive the Zoom link 1 day
